Fillings
What is a Filling?
Sometimes our teeth decay and we need to replace that space for the tooth to remain functional. A filling is a material placed into a tooth cavity to provide structure for a tooth where it may have been lost.
Our teeth can wear over time and become weaker due to the foods and drinks we eat. This means that sometimes we need to fill our teeth for them to return to their full functionality. A filling is the simplest way to do this. Fillings are available in lots of different materials and colours. A simple assessment with the dentist will determine the perfect filling to suit your mouth.

+ What is the Process?
Fillings are available under the NHS and can be done privately for more of a cosmetic look. Once you and the dentist have decided which filling is best the procedure is usually very simple. The dentist will numb the local area and remove any decay that may be there. The filling material is then placed and shaped to match your other teeth. Your bite is checked before you leave to ensure that the new filling doesnt interfere with your natural bite.
