Braces
What is a Brace?
Metal Braces are the most common form of orthodontic treatment. They work by metal brackets being bonded to the teeth and then a metal wire placement pulls the teeth into alignment.
There are many different ways to align your teeth and metal braces were one of the first orthodontic appliances to be introduced. Over time they will straighten your teeth making the appearance more appeasing and improving the way you look after your oral hygiene. They can also correct a number of issues like crowding or an uneven bite.

+ What is the Process?
On the day of your brces being fitted you will attend the clinic for around an hour. We will prepare the tooth by using a gel that roughens the surface of each tooth allowing for a better bond of the metal brackets. The brackets will be indivisually placed to each tooth using a special bond like a glue. A curing light will be used to set the glue fixing the bracket to your teeth. A metal wire will then be placed into each bracket, this is what helps pull your teeth into line. You will then be required to visit your dentist every 4-8 weeks to have the wire replaced and review the progress made.
